Festival Tower Condos - 80 John Street

One Part Condo, One Part Film Festival

Toronto is finally emerging from a prolonged adolescence towards something resembling a world-class city. Landmarks such as the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Royal Ontario Museum, Roy Thomson Hall, the new Opera House, have contributed to putting the city on the global map.

A recent addition to this growing list is the TIFF Bell Lightbox. Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is an annual event which has been gaining increasing importance in the global film industry in recent years. The TIFF building is located in the heart of the Entertainment District, on King Street, not far from Royal Alexandra Theatre and Princess of Wales Theatre. Five cinemas, two galleries,  two restaurants and a lounge, a gift shop, a film reference library, office and work space for TIFF employees, are all combined with a 43-storey condominium tower.

On the outside, the building soars from its limestone base into a glass tower, a symphony of  the transparent and the translucent, and crowned by an illuminated glass top serving as a welcoming beacon to Festival Tower residents and visitors.
